Assisted Living LPNs Show Hourly Increase
Oakland, NJ, January 2009 -- The national median hourly rate of Assisted Living LPNs is $20.08 according to the eleventh annual Assisted Living Salary & Benefits Report, just published by Hospital & Healthcare Compensation Service (HCS). The national percent increase for LPNs in facilities reporting data from both the 2007 and 2008 Reports was 3.11%.
Turnover rates for LPNs also showed an increase, rising 2.46% over the previous year. The table below illustrates the difference in turnover rates:

1,254 Assisted Living facilities participated in the study and provided compensation data on more than 49,000 employees nationwide. 1,188 for-profit and 66 not-for-profit facilities provided data for the study.
The Report covers 16 management and 24 nonmanagement positions. Data are reported according to for-profit and not-for-profit status, revenue size, unit-size, state, county, and geographic region. Also covered are 22 fringe benefits, turnover rates by department, and projected salary increases for 2009. Data are effective as of October 2008.
